We are a fourth generation Agricultural Dealership founded in 1938 by George H. Cooper Sr. (the Sage of the South). Mr. George started Glade & Grove Supply with a single store on the tracks in Princeton, FL as an Oliver Equipment dealer. Through the years and as the south Florida markets evolved he would always be there fighting to get the equipment that was needed. He was a passionate supporter of the local farmers and was deeply embedded with all the new agricultural developments of his time. At his heart he was always a farmer.
Our second generation is George H. Cooper Jr. and much like his father is a farmer at heart.
Under George Jr., Glade & Grove Supply became a big part of south Florida agriculture and with a large personality
and larger ambition we grew from the single store in Princeton to multi store agricultural dealer that covered most aspects of Florida farming.
during this time we had to close our original location (Dade County was growing too much and farm land was too expensive) and with Pahokee so close to Belle Glade, we merged the two locations which got us to a single store again but not for long.
Immokalee and Avon Park were added. With these three locations we were covering
huge aspects of Florida Farming, Sugar/Rice/Vegetables in Belle Glade, Citrus/Cattle/Vegetables/Animal Feed in Avon Park and Vegetables/Citrus in
Immokalee. George is retired now but will never not ask how business is and what is new in the market,
he still loves it.
Our third generation is Mark D. Cooper and me Glenn G. Cooper and much like our father and grandfather we are farmers at heart. We have stabilized this crazy business with sound ideas and an eye for growth. We want what is best for our customers and what is needed in the Florida market. We have added a fourth location in Sarasota that sures up the western side of Florida farming and gives us access to the construction business. With these four stores we are positioned to nearly cover all South Florida farming and get a little of the coastal construction business. Our fourth generation is currently working for us in key locations throughout the company learning what is needed to run a dealership such as this. They are getting their hands dirty just like the we all did, nothing teaches like hard work. We have a great group in this next generation and they love the business.
Our employees are the most important aspect of our company and we treat them as if they were family and they treat us they same.
We have very little turnover and have retired quite a few great employees over the years. Currently we have half a dozen 30+ year employees, several 20 plusers and a ton of 10 plusers.
We ain't perfect but we must be doing something right to keep these great people around for so long.
